Unsere Partnerorganisation IWO wurde 1999 gegründet. Neben zahlreichen Workcamps führt IWO jedes Jahr auch interessante längerfristige Projekte durch, die wir in erster Linie Freiwilligen mit Vorerfahrung in Workcamps und einem speziellen Interesse an koreanischer Kultur empfehlen. Alle Projekte beginnen mit einem 3 tägigen Einführungskurs in Seoul (siehe Hintergrundinfos).

Freiwilligendienst in einer Bildungseinrichtung für Kinder

PROJECT: Local Children Center in Korea is a facility for the children welfare services. The center provides children a shelter after the regular school and provides them with educational/cultural opportunities as well. Most children in rural area have fewer opportunities to meet foreigners and get a high quality English education compared to the urban area. Also although international marriage is quite common phenomenon in rural area, local residents have lack of understanding for multi-culture. Thus, the children are facing discrimination in the school, cultural and linguistic difficulties. International volunteers can give them chances to interact with foreigners and to understand multi-culture. And English can be a tool to understand Korean local children and interact with them. Big Tree Local Children Center welcomes you to check your own class with your talents and ideas.
WORK: - Teaching English to primary school students and middle school students
- Helping farming
- Taking care of children while they are in the center
TEACHING INFORMATION:
- Age & Number of students: 8 to 16 years old and about 30 children at the center.
- Number of Teachers: 3 teachers
EXTRA ACTIVITIES: The center may invite you to join with them on field trips on Saturday and also invite you to join their pear and sweet potato farm.
QUALIFICATIONS OF VOLUNTEERS:
1) Essential qualification
- Those who have teaching experience or are interested in teaching.(Especially with non-formal methods)
- Those who are interested in kids and socialize with them.
2) Preferred qualification - Interest in outdoor activities and farming
FREE TIME: Weekends and national holidays
ACCOMMODATION: A shared room with other volunteers in Local Children Center
FOOD: Provide ingredient for breakfast and lunch, and meal provided for dinner
LOCATION: Yeongwol, Gangwon province. It takes 3 hours from Seoul by bus. The center is quite distant from the downtown. However, volunteers can use the shuttle bus from center to downtown.
TERMINAL: Jecheon Bus Terminal

Englischunterricht und Kulturaustausch in einem lokalen Kinderzentrum

Thus, the children are facing discrimination in the school, cultural and linguistic difficulties. International volunteers can give them chances to interact with foreigners and to understand multi-culture. And English can be a tool to understand Korean local children and interact with them. Especially in Sunshine Local Children center, there are many children who need affection caused by the absence of parent and family matters.

TEACHING INFORMATION:
- Age & Number of students: 8 to 16 years old and about 30 children at the center.
- Number of Teachers: 2 to 3 teachers
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS OF VOLUNTEERS:
- Those who have teaching experience or are interested in teaching.
- Those who can communicate in English
- Those who are interested in kids and socialized with them.
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday (5-7 hours)
FREE TIME: Weekends and national holidays
ACCOMMODATION: A separate house from the Local Children center
FOOD: Provided meal by the host
LOCATION: Uiryeong, Gyeongsangnamdo Province. It takes 5 hours from Seoul by express bus.
TERMINAL: Uiryeong Bus Terminal
EXTRA FEE: 200€


Arbeiten als Huehnerfarmer in einem laendlichen Selbstversorgerdorf

IWO/LOVE-B1 SANAN HWASEONG 18.09.- 08.12.2017     AGRI&SOCI     3VOL

PROJECT: Historically, and even now, human beings have been searching for the true definition of a peaceful, harmonious, and "happy life". In pursuit of the answer to this question, a group of people gathered in 1984 in what is now Sanan Village, an idealistic community which follows the philosophy of an environment-friendly, non-possessive society. As of today, around 20 people reside within this communal village, and the residents are encouraged to pay more attention to the preservation and conservation of the environment while also freely sharing public resources. People in the village live together, work together and share together. The volunteers are also required to follow their life style. The main income of the village is chicken farming. Those who are interested in a new and alternative way of living which is very different from a "normal and capitalized" life in Korea, may obtain some fresh ideas about their life through this program.
WORK: - Poultry farming such as, feeding chickens, collecting eggs every morning, working in the egg-selection-facility.
- Sometimes required to help farming and housework
EXTRA ACTIVITIES: You may take some chances to participate in weekend workcamp conducted within the village
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Sunday (One day off during the weekday)
FREE TIME: One day during the weekdays, One week off in the middle of the project
QUALIFICATIONS OF VOLUNTEERS:
1) Essential qualification - No allergy to chicken, eggs and nuts
2) Preferred qualification - Open mind to learn from villagers and work
ACCOMMODATION: A private room in the village dormitory
FOOD: Provided meal twice a day (Basically villagers don't eat breakfast, but for volunteers, self-catering is available)
LOCATION: Hwaseong City, GyeongGi Province, It takes 1.5 hour from Seoul by bus.
TERMINAL: Incheon International Airport
EXTRA FEE: 200€
