Support Women’s Cooperative (Turkey)

Support a women-led social cooperative in Turkey!

The S.S. Adatepe Kadın Girişimi Üretim ve İşletme Kooperatifi cooperative was founded in 2024 by women in the village of Fındık in the Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş. Its aim is to preserve regional food culture whilst creating economic opportunities in the village. By producing and selling traditional products such as tomato paste, dried fruit, pestil, bread and other local specialities, they generate income which is reinvested in improving village life.

Despite many challenges, this dedicated group of women continues to work to beautify and strengthen their village. The products they make are sold at New Year’s markets and via online platforms, and the proceeds support local development efforts.

As part of this camp, you will be supporting the co-operative.

When?

3rd–12th September, 2026

What’s the project about?

This camp focuses on traditional food production and supporting agriculture. You’ll actively take part in daily village life and seasonal production activities. You will:

  • harvest vegetables straight from the fields;

  • collect pine cones and seasonal agricultural produce;

  • help prepare traditional dishes, such as tomato paste (salça), bread, pestil (dried fruit strips), dried fruit and vegetables, pasta, etc.;

  • help with organisation in the kitchen and the preparation processes, and

  • help with packing and preparing the products as required
