Do you love picturesque villages and nature? Help us beautify Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a medieval village in the south of France.
Nestled in the heart of the Hérault Gorge, it is ranked among the "most Beautiful Villages in France." It is also a key stop on the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago), attracting pilgrims and visitors from all over the world.
The castle overlooking Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert offers a magnificent view of the Hérault Gorge. Although only a few remnants of the walls remain today, the site is still impressive thanks to its stunning location. According to local legend, a giant helped build the castle; this gave the site its name and adds a touch of magic to this historic place.

What is the project about?
You will help restore the stone path leading up to the castle—a hands-on and rewarding project. In the process, you will learn about the traditional "calade" construction method. You will discover how to select, shape, and arrange the right stones to secure, restore, or create paths.
