Join a Volunteering Team in Bulgaria!
Smokinya Foundation is a Bulgarian youth organization that focuses on personal and professional development through informal education and volunteering work.
For three weeks in August, Smokinya organizes an ESC Volunteering Team in Mrachenik, a small village in the mountain range Sredna Gora in central Bulgaria.
When is it?
August 13 – September 10, 2025
What is it about?
At the camp everyone will be part of an “action team” that tackles practical tasks, for example:
• Construction Team: builds small structures, repairs or demolishes, learns basic handywork
• Garden Team: manages the soil, takes care of seeding, weeding, keeping the green area
• Carpenter Team: crafts simple furniture or other useful tools from wood
• Kitchen Team: supports the preparation of meals for everyone, learns about nutritious cooking
• Village Team: supports the locals in carrying out events, brings people together
• Media Team: records film, takes pictures, conducts interviews, writes articles, posts on social media
This project is funded as “volunteering team“ by the European Solidarity Corps.
It means that you as a volunteer of this camp receive allowance and a lump sum for your travel from Germany to Italy.
The participation in projects of the European Solidarity Corps is open to everyone between the age of 18 and 30 who is resident in one of the countries that are part of the program.
