Lasse Neresheim erblühen!

12 Freiwillige inkl. Campleitung

For the first time, Neresheim will organize the festival “Neresheim in Bloom” which will start on July 18th and last until September 2020. In addition to the festival, Neresheim also wants to permanently expand the community park by adding flowers and leisure time possibilities. They want to bring life and colour to the town by filling the streets and town square with the temporary plantings of flowers during the summer months. There are a variety of events which are planned to take place during the summer to add to the festive and communal experience! By helping the Neresheim to prepare the festival you will help to facilitate sustainable cities and communities. (UN SDG 11)

In this workcamp, you will prepare the summer flower festival “Neresheim in Bloom”, which will be opened on July 18th. Your main tasks will be to build, move and install various flowerbeds, plant the flowers for the festival and even install some beach elements along the main festive road which leads from the main square down to the town park. Since the park will be part of the flower festival, this is a good occasion to make the park more attractive by planting flowers, renovating existing park elements and installing new ones, such as a bar foot path and a beach volleyball field. Your work in the park also includes tasks like digging up the lawn in order to prepare the flower beds, so be prepared to work with earth and soil. You might also be involved in setting up other elements of the festival for the opening ceremony.

You will be accommodated in the local fire station which offers a heated room and a place to cook! Neresheim will provide you with beds and you will only need to bring your own sleeping bag. The showers are located in the public swimming baths which are only a 200m walk away. Supermarkets can be easily reached by foot.

Neresheim is a small but lively town with around 8000 inhabitants. It is the cultural centre of the Härtsfeld which is the eastern region of the Swabian Alps. Because of this, it sports over 100 local clubs and youth initiatives which is a lot considering its rural charm and will surely offer possibilities to interact with locals. In your free time you will also have the opportunity to visit the local museum and open air or indoor baths. The beautiful nature surrounding it also invites you to explore and hike the local trails.
