Green Horizons - Training for Trainers: Eco Messenger

Are you interested in climate action and environmental education? Do you enjoy working in groups, and would you like to learn new methods and run workshops or other activities yourself? Then become an eco messenger!

We want to build a network of trained volunteers who, as ‘eco messengers’, can promote sustainable practices in international Workcamps, Youth Exchanges and similar youth projects.

We want to combine climate action, environmental education and global responsibility to make our volunteering projects an (even more) sustainable and use them as a meaningful tool for change.

In October, as part of the “Green Horizons” project, we’re organising a training for trainers where you can train to become an 'eco messenger'.

When?

19–23 October 2026

Where?

The training will take place in Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium. Our partner organisation, Compagnons Bâtisseurs, runs ‘La Campagnette’ there – a former boarding school that is used all year round by various groups for a range of youth work activities, such as work camps, youth exchanges, workshops and training courses…

What is this training about?

In this training for trainers, you will use non-formal education methods to prepare yourself to act as an ‘eco messenger’ – that is, to promote and lead by example in climate- and environmentally-friendly practices in international Workcamps and other volunteering projects

We will work together to develop clear guidelines and useful tools so that you can successfully design, organise, lead and evaluate workshops and other activities yourself.

‘Green Horizons – Increase the Positive Ecological Handprint of International Volunteering’ is a project that we have been organising since the end of 2025 together with our partners from COCAT (Catalonia) and Compagnons Bâtisseurs (Belgium). Young people from Catalonia, Belgium and Germany are therefore eligible to take part in this training.
