Climate protection and environmental education are your passion? Are you keen to learn new methods and lead your own workshops or other activities? Become an eco messenger!
As an eco messenger, you'll join our network of volunteers, which we've been expanding since last year. As a trained eco messenger, you'll bring topics and practices related to sustainability, environmental education, and climate protection to international workcamps, youth exchanges, events, and seminars.
With Green Horizons – Increase the Positive Ecological Handprint of International Volunteering, a joint environmental education and networking project with our partners COCAT (Catalonia) and Compagnons Bâtisseurs (Belgium), we are working to connect climate protection, environmental education, and global responsibility to make our volunteer projects even more environmentally friendly and use them as an effective tool for sustainable change.
As part of Green Horizons, we train eco messengers in an international Training for Trainers of Eco-Messengers.
Who can participate?
This training is open to young people living in Catalonia, Belgium, or Germany.
When?
October 19th-23rd, 2026
Where?
The training takes place in Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium.
Our partner organization, Compagnons Bâtisseurs, runs La Campagnette there, a former boarding school used year-round by various groups for diverse youth work activities, such as workcamps, youth exchanges, workshops, and training sessions.
What is this training about?
In this Training for Trainers, you will use non-formal learning methods to prepare yourself as an Eco-Messenger to promote, model, and support various climate- and environmentally friendly practices in international workcamps and volunteer projects.
Together, we will develop clear guidelines and useful tools so that you can successfully design, organize, lead, and evaluate workshops and other activities.
We expect all participants to be eager and available to actively participate with us next year: You will lead workshops and activities and support us as experts in a further training course for new eco messengers in spring 2027.

Travel Reimbursement
Green Horizons is co-financed by the EU's Erasmus+ program, therefore we can reimburse your travel expenses (within Europe) for this training up to a certain amount. We require that you choose a "green" travel option, i.e., low-emission means of transport such as bus, train, or carpooling. We will reimburse:
