When?
October 26th - November 1st, 2026 (as a group leader, you arrive on the evening before the program start)
Group size
20 volunteers + 3 group leaders (with a valid driving license, French language skills is an advantage)
This youth exchange is open to volunteers from France and Germany between the ages of 15 and 18.
Organize a week with 20 young people from France and Germany on the topics of climate and sustainability!
We are organizing this German-French youth exchange together with the LIONS District 111 South-Center (Germany) in collaboration with the LIONS District 103 Est (France). Thematically, everything will revolve around climate and sustainability: climate change knows no borders.
The young people should be able to exchange ideas about current topics, engage with other perspectives, and question their own beliefs. Based on this, they jointly develop ideas for acting locally, getting involved, initiating change and shaping the world of tomorrow.
As a group leader, you accompany the young people educationally and actively shape learning processes.
Are you studying pedagogy, teaching, social work or something similar? Are you interested in working with young people and would you like to gain more practical experience? Then you can put your theoretical pedagogical knowledge into practical action in this youth exchange. Try out methods of non-formal youth education and/or language animation with the bi-national group.
The diverse program of the youth encounter will consist of workshops, excursions to the region, nature and experiences, practical nature conservation, leisure activities and cooking together. As a group leader, we expect you to shape the program's priorities, plan and facilitate the activities.
The youth meeting takes place in Owen/Teck between Stuttgart and Tübingen.
The group house Vorm Eichholz is located about 1km outside of Owen/Teck, between orchards and fields on the edge of the forest. It is a self-catering house with 34 beds in 5 bedrooms. There is also a lounge, a kitchen and of course sanitary facilities. There is plenty of space around the house for all kinds of activities - and you are right in nature.
German-French teams will cook together, everyone takes a turn. The topic of sustainability should of course also play a role here. So feel free to bring a few suitable recipes with you if you have any.
