Support the team at a Belgian adventure playground in Liège!
Le Terrain d’Aventure du Peri (in English “The Adventure Playground of Peri”) is an organization founded in 1977. She runs a place where children can learn and experiment without pressure, built by passionate parents and neighbors.
The adventure playground is recognized as a youth center by the French Community of Belgium. Its mission is to educate people towards active and responsible citizenship.
In order to avoid exclusion for socio-economic reasons, access to the playground is completely free.
From September 1, 2025, the organization is looking for one volunteer for 12 months through the European Solidarity Corps.
Your tasks at 'Le Terrain d'Aventure du Peri'
The place is open to all young people between the ages of 5 and 26, but the majority of children and young people are between 5 and 17 years old. Every day between 10 and 60 children spend their free time here playing outdoor games, table games, building huts, do-it-yourself workshops, cooking activities, artistic projects and gardening.
On the adventure playground there is no obligation to be active and no goal. The most important thing is sharing and exchanging ideas with others.
There are also several excursions organized outside the site: trips to the North Sea, swimming pool, bike rides, camping... In summer (July and August) the site is particularly lively and welcomes up to 60 children every day.
The team consists of 8 employees and is often supported by students. As a volunteer, you support the team with all tasks that arise.
So you are constantly in contact with children and young people. You will start, lead and accompany various activities. These can be diverse and depend on your ideas, wishes and abilities. But this always requires the democratic participation of children, who have the right to vote and make suggestions.
