The “Be the Sun!” summer festival needs your support!
The Romanian organisation “Lumea Lui Pinocchio” is looking for volunteers who are keen to spend two months helping to plan, organise and run the 5th edition of the “Be the Sun!” summer festival in Panciu, a small town in Romania, through the European Solidarity Corps.
“Be the Sun” provides a venue and a framework to show solidarity with the Roma community.
Your tasks in this project
For the “Lumea lui Pinocchio” association, the festival is an opportunity to offer the community (children, families and young people) a fun and completely free event in a place where cultural activities are very limited.
During the festival, you can run various artistic workshops (e.g. face painting, mandala painting, soap bubbles, bracelet making, music, dance, etc.) and organise entertainment with games and performances (theatre, music, clowning, etc.).
All aspects will be planned collectively within the group, with people assigned to take responsibility for the various tasks and with a focus on fostering creativity, collaboration and teamwork.
The children from the Pinocchio Community Centre will also be involved in certain aspects of the preparation.
