Voluntary service in Romania (6-12 months)

The Romanian organisation Lumea Lui Pinocchio is currently looking for volunteers who are motivated to work for 6 to 12 months in a nursery and daycare centre in Panciu through the European Solidarity Corps.

Tasks of the volunteers in this project

At the kindergarten in Panciu (for children aged 3 to 6), which belongs to the Technical University ‘Al. Cuza’, you will develop non-formal educational activities, e.g. creative workshops on recycling, music, painting and theatre. Together with the children, you will create environments, scenarios and stories to promote their emotional, social and cognitive development, thereby strengthening your own skills and creativity.

The Pinocchio daycare centre, which is managed directly by Lumea lui Pinocchio and is recognised as a social service provider, works with disadvantaged children (aged 3 to 16) and their families. Here, too, you will be involved in workshops on recycling, teaching various crafts, games, cinema and sports activities, as well as planning special events (such as Christmas, Carnival, Easter or birthday parties).

Your profile

For this project, you should have:

  • basic knowledge of the English language and

  • a strong motivation for volunteer work.

Previous experience in volunteering and education, especially in working with disadvantaged children, is welcome. Artistic skills and expertise in communication and graphic design are also valued.

Conditions of participation

Participation in the European Solidarity Corps is free of charge.

You should not have participated in any other European Solidarity Corps project lasting longer than 2 months and you need to be registered on the European Solidarity Corps portal (PASS) in order to apply.
