Get involved in a small village in south-west France and organise intercultural exchanges through workshops in schools or creative workshops for children, young people or older people!
Our French partner organization Solidarités Jeunesses is looking for volunteers for various long-term voluntary services through the European Solidarity Corps .
Solidarités Jeunesses welcomes international volunteers throughout the year in local projects called 'Délégations'. The Délégations are mainly located in rural areas and are housed in historical local places, for example a former factory, a former communal campsite, a village house or a castle. The houses have been renovated over the years by many volunteers and permanent staff who live and work there together.
Sem&Vol was founded in 2013 in the village of Le Buisson de Cadouin to mark its first international project. Since then, more than 70 international work camps and projects have been organised and hosted by various communities in the Dordogne, bringing together numerous people from all over the world with the local population.
Since 2018, the organisation has been expanding its reception centre for international long-term volunteers, initially in Cadouin and, since May 2022, in Cause de Clérans.

Sem&Vol is based in the Dordogne in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region (in south-western France).
You will be accommodated in a two-storey house with a large garden in the village of Cause. A maximum of six volunteers will stay in two mixed-gender bedrooms. The house has a shower and a bathroom, two toilets and a fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor, everyone eats meals and spends their free time together in a large living room with a terrace. The house also has a workspace for volunteers and an office for staff.
The project
The monthly schedule drawn up by the local team offers you the opportunity to acquire technical knowledge and skills in various areas:

daily volunteer activities (minor masonry work, carpentry, painting, environmental protection, etc.)

organising and taking part in local intercultural activities such as workshops in schools, creative workshops for specific target groups (you can choose: children, young people, older people, etc.), local events and weekly language courses;

building networks with local organisations to ensure better communication and greater consistency in on-the-ground initiatives;

promoting the organisation and volunteering (presentations, creating communication materials for Sem&Vol, etc.)
A group meeting takes place once a week to work together on planning activities and managing the budget, as well as to review the week.

Conditions of participation
Volunteering through the European Solidarity Corps is open to all young people aged 18-30. Of course you should be motivated for the project. A driver's license is strongly recommended in all projects as they take place in rural areas.
Apart from that, Solidarités Jeunesses works on the principle that the differences between people are an opportunity to learn, discover and grow from each other. Therefore, everyone is welcome, regardless of origin, gender, sexual orientation or world view.
What does participation cost?
Participation is free. The program is funded by the European Commission. You will be provided with lodging, meals, medical insurance, and round trip tickets (up to the maximum amount allowed by the program) for the duration of your stay. You will also receive a small amount of pocket money.

No special qualifications are required for the projects, so your text is used to assess the motivation to participate in a specific project. It's an opportunity for you to express why you want to volunteer in a rural area with people from different countries and backgrounds.
