Camp 'Build Against Waste’ 2026 (Denmark)

Become part of the Byggefestivalen, a 7-day construction festival with over 1000 guests, camping, concerts, workshops, lectures and co-creation.

The Danish Centre for Sustainable Development Goals (an initiative of the municipality of Sønderborg), based in Lykkegaard, a 17th-century farm complex, organises events that bring sustainability to life – such as the Byggefestivalen (Building Festival): a family-friendly maker festival where people of all ages can carry out creative projects using recycled materials, professional tools and under the guidance of experienced craftsmen.

This year, around 1,000 to 1,500 participants are expected to attend.

When?

July 03rd-23rd, 2026

What's the project about?

At the festival, everyone plays an active role and creates the experience together. You can choose to create your own projects or join other projects. The organizers provide all the professional power tools and recycled building materials you need for free. What is built at the festival can be taken home afterwards or donated to charity.

Although the main aspect of the festival is building, there are also workshops during the day and live bands and DJs every night.
