Transform a French village into a medieval fair!
The “Souvigny Grand Site” association is organising the medieval fair in Souvigny for the 30th time, an event that attracts over 30,000 visitors every year.
For nine days, the village of Souvigny is transformed into a lively setting featuring troubadours and acrobats. Amateur and professional teams perform on stage. An international work camp helps organise the event to showcase the traditions of French medieval culture.
Discover a variety of stalls and attractions, including music, theatre, juggling, fire performers, tightrope walkers, falcons and horses, craftspeople at work, living camps, blacksmithing, cooking demonstrations and tents.
When?
25th July – 14th August, 2026
What’s it all about?
Join the team of local volunteers in setting up the installations, manning the stalls, cooking, and helping to make the festival a success!
Your tasks will include helping to set up and dismantle stalls, tents and marquees. You’ll help with signage, traffic management and the overall layout. You’ll take care of the general logistics of the fair, including cooking and cleaning. You’ll look after stalls such as the bar, the pancake stall and much more.
Please note that the work in the first and last weeks will be particularly physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and busy days.
