Support a small community in Belgium with various renovation and construction works
The Workcamp in Marche-en-Famenne is the result of cooperation between city authorities and a local non-profit organization: for more than 15 years, the mayors and deputies have been building international contacts for the local youth here together with our colleagues from Compagnons Bâtisseurs Belgium .
The 'GRIMM' association is committed to protecting local living conditions and promoting sustainable development models. Its members have plenty of ideas, but lack the hands to implement them. So they came up with the idea of involving volunteers from all over the world. Since then, every summer the community has made its buildings available and welcomes young people from all over the world.

The project
If you enjoy working with wood, screws and tools, this is your Workcamp! You support the members of the association 'GRIMM' in realizing the projects they dreamed of. The following applies: Nature belongs to everyone. And so that each of us can enjoy it, it must be protected.
This year, you will build facilities for cyclists and cycle tourists passing through the town of Marche-en-Famenne. You will build two wooden shelters and three picnic tables, along the cycle path near the cultural center. You will also set up several bicycle racks.
The volunteers will also carry out the maintenance of a diversion channel near a village in the municipality. This channel collects runoff water, thus preventing flooding of houses and land below. However, it is currently clogged with branches and dead leaves and is therefore no longer functioning properly.
