Support a community café in Preignan, a village in the heart of Occitanie in southern France!
Would you like to contribute to the revitalization of a rural French community and connect with locals? Join this volunteer team in Preignan, France, and bring a community meeting place to life in one of France's most welcoming regions!
During the project, you will be ambassadors for L'Hydroberge, a former mill that has been transformed into a community meeting place with a café. The café is an important meeting place for locals, combining culture, conviviality, and creativity.
L'Hydroberge hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including jam sessions, themed fairs (eco-construction, wellness, cosplay), book signings, conferences, and concerts. In May, a group of international volunteers will be invited to support L'Hydroberge and further develop the outdoor space.
When?
May 14-29 May 2025
What is the project about?
You'll help breathe new life into L'Hydroberge. The project's goal is to transform this alternative space into a meeting place for socializing and exchanging ideas, while upholding values such as inclusion, equality, and environmental responsibility.
On-site, you'll prepare the outdoor area for the summer season by building things like a pizza oven and outdoor wooden furniture. No previous experience is required. So if you've never done masonry or carpentry before, don't worry, you can learn everything on-site! What really matters is your motivation and willingness to creatively shape this promising project.
During the camp, you'll have the opportunity to participate in jam sessions. Musical instruments will be available, but you can also bring your own. It's the perfect opportunity to meet locals, exchange ideas, and immerse yourself in local life.
This project is funded as a volunteer team through the European Solidarity Corps.
This means that as a volunteer at this camp, you will receive pocket money and a travel allowance for your trip from Germany to France.
Participation in European Solidarity Corps projects is open to all young volunteers between 18 and 30 years of age who reside in a country participating in the program.
