From July to mid September, the Galician branch of our partner organization SVI in Spain organizes 5 camps together with the Directorate General for Youth, Participation and Volunteering of the Xunta de Galicia, which, among other things, supports the young population living in Galicia.
On the Illas Cies archipelago you can become active for environmental protection.
When?
beginning of July - mid September
The project
You will help with environmental protection on the islands and help, for example, with maintenance work on an island, fire monitoring, information work and visitor awareness as well as specific work to improve the nature park in cooperation with the employees of the local environmental service.
On the South Island, the only island that is not served by passenger ships, you will also help with some clean-up work.
Where do the camps take place?
The Illas Cíes ('Islas Cíes' in Spanish) are a small group of islands off the Morrazo Peninsula on the coast of Galicia near the city of Vigo in northwestern Spain. The archipelago consists of three uninhabited islands: Monteagudo (North Island), Do Faro (Middle Island) and San Martiño (South Island).
