Open-Air-Theatre Heidenheim

Curtain up, stage clear! Are you ready to help build a theater set?

The Heidenheim Open-Air-Theater is the second largest of its kind in southern Germany. It is located on the “Burgberg” in the town of Heidenheim an der Brenz, surrounded by forest, and offers space for up to 1,100 spectators.

The theater is run by a non-profit organization with over 500 members of all ages and is delighted to welcome a group of international volunteers again. This project is perfect for anyone interested in theater and wants to take a look behind the scenes!

When?

25th April - 9th May, 2026

The project

In this camp you will help build the stage for the Heidenheim Open-Air-Theater. The stage and set design must be built or reworked accordingly. You will screw, nail and paint. Smaller props also need to be built.

You will have a professional stage builder at your side who will support you with all tasks. However, it is definitely helpful if you have a little experience in manual/construction work and have used tools such as cordless screwdrivers.

You will be accommodated directly in the theater.

In addition to the open-air stage, there is an administration building, a workshop, a café and a small beer garden.

There is a large room for you in the building, as well as showers and a kitchen. Attention: There is only one large bedroom for all volunteers - separation by gender, for example, is not possible!

Apply now!

We have one free place, also available to volunteers from Germany, so register now to take part in this camp.
