Help build an international ecological camping village!
In 1995, volunteers from our partner organization Solidarités Jeunesses founded 'Vir'Volt', a regional delegation in the Ile-de-France, the region around Paris. Every summer, Vir'Volt organizes international Workcamps and European youth meetings on its own premises or in the surrounding towns and villages.
For 3 years, Vir'Volt has been building a small camping village that will welcome young people from all over the world every year. They should get to know each other and learn from the differences, think and act together to protect the environment, but also get to know and support the environment and its people.
When?
October 21st - November 4th, 2024
What is the camp about?
During this Workcamp you will participate in the construction of ecological furniture and objects that help the biodiversity of the site (insect shelters, birdhouses, etc.). Together with the group leaders, you will introduce and create animations and games about nature and the environment. In the future, these will be used for the children at the nearby leisure center. Games, debates, quizzes: teach the young generation to understand their environment and act accordingly!
Vir'Volt aims to become completely eco-friendly and sustainable, which is reflected in the camping village: yurts and teepees as rooms, permaculture farming and gardening, water saving projects, waste prevention and reuse. This small village aims to grow big without impacting or damaging the environment, always looking for better and more environmentally friendly ways of living.
This project is funded as a volunteer team through the European Solidarity Corps.
This means that as a volunteer in this camp you will receive pocket money and a travel allowance for your trip from Germany to France. Participation in European Solidarity Corps projects is open to all young volunteers between the ages of 18 and 30, residing in a country participating in the program.
