Cycling for the artistic and cultural heritage of Raymond Morales' sculptures.
For several years now, our colleagues at Concordia have been organising international volunteering camps in Port-de-Bouc, France, to restore Raymond Morales' sculptures. This year, volunteers will embark on a cycling tour between the town of Port-de-Bouc and Catalonia to discover the artist's Catalan roots.
When?
15th-29th September 2025
What is it about?
Together, you will transport Raymond Morales' works, which will be exhibited in various towns along the route, and take part in events with the local population to introduce the sculptor, his history and his work, especially during the Open Monument Days.
The first three days will be devoted to preparing for the trip, after which you will alternate between travel days with stages averaging 50 km (from 30 to 85 km), days promoting the project and the artist, and days discovering the local cultural heritage.
In Gruissan, you will work with a technical supervisor on a small project to restore and promote a work of art by a local sculptor. You will work on cleaning and promoting a work of art and learn how to care for metal materials.
Concordia provides all volunteers with a bicycle, helmet, reflective cycling vest and cycling gloves.
This project is funded as a volunteering team through the European Solidarity Corps.
This means that as a volunteer in this camp you will receive pocket money and a travel allowance for your trip from Germany to France. Participation in European Solidarity Corps projects is open to all young volunteers aged between 18 and 30 residing in a country participating in the programme.
