Our colleagues at CBB in Belgium are looking for volunteers to help out on a Gallo-Roman farm until end of January 2026 through the European Solidarity Corps.
Malagne Archéoparc is a non-profit organization in Belgium that has been managing a Gallo-Roman archaeological site since 1993. Their objectives are to protect these oldest archaeological remains in the area, which is also a protected natural site, and to transmit and share knowledge of Gallo-Roman history through know-how and techniques. Malagne opens its doors to many different people. The audience includes tourists and families on vacation, as well as students between the ages of 3 and 17.
As soon as possible, but preferably from May to the end of January 2026 you can lend a hand as a volunteer at the Malagne Archéoparc Gallo-Roman farm. There is currently one vacancy.
Your tasks in the Malagne Archéoparc
Malagne brings the Gallo-Roman past back to life. These include, for example, crafts, gardening, building, scientific research based on experimental archaeology, working with animals or workshops such as bread baking, blacksmithing led by experienced craftsmen.
As a volunteer through the European Solidarity Corps, two of you have the opportunity to take part in all activities here. Depending on your wishes and competence, you will work together and/or separately. Please note that most work is done with the technical team. Their main language is French, so a little knowledge of French before arrival would be very helpful.
Since many tasks are performed outdoors, the work rhythm varies greatly depending on the season. Basically, it follows two cycles: the natural agricultural year (for gardening, maintenance of green spaces, buildings...) and the high and low tourist season.
