European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Team in Hunsrück
IBG is currently working on a very special project together with the Hunsrück villages of Deuselbach, Etgert, Immert and Rorodt and the “IG National Park Railway Hunsrück-Hochwald” association: we are making the Hunsrück international!
For three weeks, international volunteers and people from Hunsrück actively tackle different work projects, celebrate together and learn with and from each other. The project is funded as a team of volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps.
Invitation to the international festival in Deuselbach
We invite you all to the international festival on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 from 4 p.m. in/in front of the guest house in Deuselbach. Here everyone involved celebrates together, presents the results of the project so far and simply has a good, peaceful time together.
All interested guests are welcome. There will be shuttle bus services from Etgert, Immert and Rorodt, otherwise we will be happy to pick you up from the Hunsrückhaus (you can easily get there by bus from Idar-Oberstein, Trier or Neubrücke/Nahe). Just get in touch with us if you would like to be picked up from the Hunsrückhaus. Whether you live nearby, are on holiday in the area, or just want to get to know the Hunsrück region: Come by, meet the international volunteering team and get to know the people of the Hunsrück!
About the project
Our 15 volunteers from Albania, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the Ukraine have been guests in the Hunsrück since September 11th. In the run-up, the population of the local communities considered which projects they would like to tackle and implement in their place together with international volunteers and how they would like to convey the culture and traditions of the Hunsrück to the international guests. This has resulted in a colorful mix of work projects and other activities: For example, a spring in Etgert is being renatured and a small oasis of peace is being created there for everyone, there is clearing work on the Deuselbach Viaduct, nature conservation work to link biotopes and in Immert everyone is pressing the fruit from the orchards together.
