Let's Collect Intercultural Children's Stories

You currently cannot or do not want to participate in a physical project? Together with our international partners, we have been offering various virtual camps since April.

In a virtual camp, you work with other international volunteers on a charitable project or exchange ideas on a specific topic in an online workshop. Our volunteer Jessica is organizing a virtual camp in September that is all about storytelling: In this two-week project you will work in an international group to create an intercultural children's book with “typical” children's stories from different cultures.

When?

September 14th-30th, 2020

What will we be working on here?

In this virtual project we want to create an intercultural children's book together. It should contain “typical” children's stories from the different cultures of the volunteers. The stories should be linked to the values of IBG and international volunteer services such as sustainability, inclusion, equality, respect and openness. The stories appear in both the volunteer's original language and an English translation (and there may be a translation in German as well).

In addition to the stories, you will illustrate the book. Don't worry, no special drawing / painting skills are required - it's about imagination, not perfection. IBG will make the final book (if possible in print) available to local project partners who work with children so that they can use it for their activities.
