Workcamps in Spain

Do you want to discover the south of Europe? Are you ok with working at over 30° in the shade? Then a Workcamp in Spain is just right for you!

There are usually many Spanish volunteers taking part in the Spanish Workcamps. The projects at SVI are even bilingual, so we recommend a basic knowledge of Spanish. The maximum age in most SVI and COCAT projects is 30 years, and in some projects even lower. The camps run by our partners De Amicitia have no age restrictions.

Reports from Spain

Many camps in Spain take part in environmental protection projects or archaeological projects. But there are also various social projects every year, as well as cultural, music and film festivals that would be happy about your support.

Would you like to know what a Workcamp in Spain can actually look like? Our volunteer Selina was in a camp in the nature reserve on the edge of the Riu Algar in Altea in the south of Spain and with her group spent two weeks removing, among other things, water primroses, fast-growing plants that deprive others of oxygen.

Miriam was at a camp in Pinós in Catalonia with her friend and helped clear hiking trails there.

Travel tips for Spain

Traveling to Spain from Germany is not complicated. All you need to enter the country is your ID card. You can easily get to Spain from Germany via France by train or long-distance bus.

The big cities like Madrid and Barcelona are well connected with express train connections: With the AVE (similar to the ICE in Germany) you only need a good 2.5 hours from Madrid to Barcelona. Here you can search for train connections in Spain and book tickets online. Overall, the train network within Spain is not as developed as in Germany, for example, which means that regional travel is cheaper and easier in many cases by bus.
